COMPETITIVE CLASSES

HOW DO YOU BECOME A COMPETITIVE ALL-STAR CHEERLEADER?
Attend an All-Star practice session and be evaluated by the head coach or attend tryouts in the Spring and demonstrate strengths in advanced cheerleading skills, tumbling and stunts.  Positive attitude and cooperation with other squad members is a pre-requisite.

WHAT IS ALL STAR CHEERLEADING?

All Star cheerleading is comprised of cheerleaders from a variety of different schools cheering together on a competitive cheer squad.  Many All Star cheerleaders are also school cheerleaders.  All Star Divisions and levels are set by the NACCC & USASF each year.   Coaches then place cheerleaders on a squad according to the cheerleaders age and cheerleading ability.

All Star cheerleading does involve a serious committment from both the athlete and athlete’s parents.  If just one person misses practice it can loose the effectiveness of the routine.  Therefore, a strict attendance policy is required.   The cheerleader should know upfront that they will miss birthday parties and other family gatherings to keep their committment to their team during 2 practices that are scheduled each week.  Parents should not plan family gatherings or parties on nights of All Star Cheer practice.

There is also a financial committment from the All Star parents.  We do explain all the estimated costs upfront and its very important that each family feels comfortable about this committment.  We do offer a variety of different fundraising opportunities for parents as well as the cheerleader to get involved to raise funds to cheer.

A positive attitude is a must at AACS and also very important in All Star cheerleading.   Each team member is expected to give 100 % at all practices and performances.  In addition they agree to come to practice in proper clothing and shoes and act alert, energetic throughout practice,as well as, respect the oaches and other team members.
